Fernando García Licea has worked with Gestalt Therapy for over 40 years and has led more than 300 groups, providing
individual and group theraphy and therapist training in Mexico and abroad. He currently leads groups in northern Mexico and in San Antonio, Austin, McAllen and Laredo Texas. He received the recognition granted by the CAPSSI and the city of Chihuahua for his trajectory and significant contribution to the Psychotherapy of the XXI century in the framework of the First International Congress of Psychotherapy.
Psychologist from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, with a Masters in Psychotherapy from Grupo Gestalt (CIEPGFP) and a PhD in Humanist Psychotherapy (IHS). Master in Public Health (IOCIM) and Doctor Honoris Causa in Health (IOCIM). He participated as representative in Mexico of the Subcommittee on Psychological Care in Disaster Situations of the United Nations (UN) and Vice President of the Mexican Association of Psychotherapy.
Founder and Rector of the Gestalt Fritz Perls Psychotherapy Research and Training Center, SC. first Center in Mexico to obtain the recognition of official validity of studies for the Doctorate in Psychotherapy.
Creator of a psychotherapy model that integrates Gestalt Psychotherapy, Genetics and Affective Neuroscience applied to: “Psychogenetic: Model of the Introjects”. Methodology that is taught in the Master’s and Doctoral Programs offered by
its Center.
Author of the books: Gestalt Psychotherapy. Basic Processes in Gestalt Psychotherapy; co-author of the chapter Psychotherapy from the phenomenological point of view, from the book Therapy in context, an approach to the psychotherapeutic exercise. Gestalt Psychotherapist certified by the World Council for Psychotherapy and the Latin American Federation of Psychotherapy.
