He led a team that initiated a disruptive innovation process developing a Vision that embraces wellbeing for students, faculty and administrators based on the Science of positive Psychology “To prepare people with a Purpose in life and competencies to achieve it”. Martin Seligman creator of the field of Positive Psychology led to recognize Tecmilenio as the First Positive University in the World. He is member of the steering committee of the International Positive education network (IPEN).
He has participated as speaker in international events such as: OCDE 2015, UN 2015 and World Government Summit 2017, 2018 and 2019.
He has worked as professor, chairman, dean of extension and President of the Tecnologico de Monterrey University (Queretaro and San Luis Potosí respectively. He has a BS in Plant Science (1980) from Tecnologico de Monterrey, a M.Sc. in Horticulture from Michigan State University and a PhD from Texas A&M University. As president of Tecnologico de Monterrey Campus San Luis Potosi he led the Development of innovative Bachelors degree in “Business Creation and development”).
