María Angélica Luna Parra has a degree in Social Communications from the Universidad Iberoamericana. She has held various public positions in the areas of Regional and Urban Development, Social Development and Public Policy for gender and integration topics of various groups in society in vulnerable situations.
She was Executive Policy in the Delegation Alvaro Obregon, where she managed to reduce urban violence with a comprehensive program of creating public spaces and regenerating social cohesion.
As a legislator and as a social promoter she has made or promoted laws to address and prevent domestic violence and women’s rights, to fight discrimination and defend the disabled and the elderly and co-authored the current status of the City of Mexico.
At the National Institute of Public Administration was Coordinator of Consulting, a member of the Board and Executive Secretary of the same. In the same Institute participated as coordinator and teacher at various seminars and diploma on Municipal Development and challenges of the Metropolis, in the academic field, she has participated in various national and international forums on these issues.
She was Director of the Centre for Development Studies, marginalization and poverty of the State of Mexico, member of the Advisory Council of the National Institute for Women, the Women’s Institute of Mexico City and of the Consultative Assembly of the National Council to Prevent Discrimination.
Currently she is a member of the Technical Coordination Group of the Parliamentary Committee for Metropolitan Affairs.
