Marilyn Turkovich started with The Charter for Compassion International (CCI) in 2013 as director of education and has since held various positions. Marilyn’s background has been primarily in higher education and specifically in running teacher training programs for the Associated Schools of the Midwest and presiding over the multicultural and global education master’s program at Columbia College Chicago. Marilyn has done a considerable amount of written curriculum over the years, mostly related to international and cultural issues.
She worked with Independent Broadcasting Associates in a series to be aired on National Public Radio, BBC and the Australian Broadcasting Organizations. There was a period of time in the 1990s when she worked in organizational development and specialized in the work of instructional design, strategic planning and leadership development.
Recently, Marilyn has been involved in facilitating a five-year plan for the City of Seattle’s Domestic Violence Council and runs a race and social justice education program for the City of Seattle. In addition, she has designed a series of training initiatives, including the design of corporate universities (ie, IBM, Medtronics, City of Seattle), the writing of content material and instructional programs of training / education that are used for training and Interactive media In instructional design, her work includes the authorship or co-authorship of more than twenty-five training and curriculum books and the design of education manuals for development houses and publishers. She works in leadership, management skills, change and chaos theory, future thinking, strategic planning and vision, team building, measurement, communication and diversity awareness, health issues, engineering and law issues, as well as in the resolution of problems designed for a diversity of clients.
