Mario Páez González has been Dean of the University of Monterrey since 2019.
He joined Grupo Alfa in 1974. During his 45 years within this company, he served as General Director of Empaques de Cartón Titán, General Director of Total Home (Home Depot) and Director of
Alfa Finance.
He served as President and CEO of Sigma Alimentos, a leading company in the global refrigerated food industry, a subsidiary of Alfa. During his tenure as CEO, since 2002, the company has grown 6 times its size and expanded to 18 countries with a workforce of more than 45,000 people.
He was President of the Mexican Council of the Consumer Products Industry, A.C. (ConMéxico) and Vice President of the Mexican Meat Council.
He is currently a member of the board of directors of several companies in Mexico.
He has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jesús M. Montemayor Charitable Foundation since 2012 and served as President of this organization from 2015 to 2017. Since 2008 he belongs to the Economic Council of the Archdiocese of Monterrey and, in addition, chairs the Diocesan Tithe Committee .
