Spanish theologian linked to the Theology of Liberation, on which he has worked abundantly.
He has been a professor in various institutions in Spain and America. He is Professor of the Carlos III University of Madrid, currently directs the chair of Theology and Religious Sciences Ignacio Ellacuría of the Carlos III University. He is co-founder and current secretary general of the progressive Association of Theologians and Theologians Juan XXIII, member of the Spanish Society of Religious Sciences, the International Committee of the World Forum of Theology and Liberation and the Board of Directors of the Ibn Arabi Forum. Guest professor in different Masters in several universities, among them: Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad de Córdoba, Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Carlos III de Madrid. He collaborates in numerous Spanish and international journals on philosophy, theology, social sciences and religious sciences. He gives numerous conferences in the United States, Spain and Latin America.
He has received several awards and decorations, including: Diploma and Gold Medal of the Spanish League for Human Rights on the occasion of the centenary of its creation for its commitment and intellectual work in favor of dialogue between religions, International Prize for the Republic of Tunisia for Arab and Islamic studies; the “Islam and Coexistence” Prize at the 1st Muslim Fair in Spain, and the Fundación Siglo Futuro Award for its Ethical Commitment.
