Born in Tamaulipas, Juan Daniel kept the gold medal in the test of the 400-meter dash and imposed a World Record at the International Athletics for Athletes with Down’s Syndrome (IAADS) World Championships in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
He was the only mexican athlete who took part in the global competition and won three gold medals, broke two World Records and was recognized as the best athlete in the Mosaic Category.
He and his coach Angel Eliud Tovar Tinajero went to the competition with their own resources, the support of citizens and some entrepreneurs. They traveled without financial support from the Mexican Federation of Adapted Sports and still owed expenses, but his dream was achieved through previous activities that made his coach to gather financial resources, and mobilizing friends and citizens through media communication and social networks.
