Sofialeticia Morales (Mexico)

Minister of Education in Nuevo León.

Sofialeticia Morales Garza has a Doctorate and a Master’s degree in Education and Development from the Harvard University School of Education and has held various positions at the national and international level.

At the national level, she has been General Director of International Relations and Innovation and Academic Strengthening of the SEP, as well as Academic Director of the National Center for the Arts.

At the international level, she has been Director of the Education and Development Unit of the Organization of American States (OAS) and Principal Advisor of the Millennium Development Goals, today ODS, for the United Nations system, the Pan-American Organization of Health / World Health Organization (PAHO / WHO) in WDC.

She has developed initiatives and published several articles and books in which the Face, Voices and Places of the MDG Initiative in the most vulnerable communities of the Americas stand out, as well as the Portrait of Educational Work in Mexico City: Testimonies from Schools (2012 -2018) and Voices and Teaching Thought in Transformative Practices and the Systematization of the Learning Communities Project in 6 Latin American countries: Five-year achievements.

She is currently a Distinguished Professor of the Department of Education of the School of Humanities and Education and Director of Education for Development of the Tecnológico de Monterrey as well as a member of the organizing committee of the Network of Women United for Education (MUxED).
